Filipa Sanguedo proceeded with Adam R2 in the Viana do castelo Rally

The beautiful city of Viana do Castelo was the venue for the 6th race of the National Asphalt Rally Cup and the National GT Rally Championship, with the Santo Tirso Automobile Club being once again in charge of this 6th edition of the Viana do Castelo Rally.

Filipa Sanguedo took part in the asphalt race with her Opel Adam R2 that debuted this season in the National Rally Championship, focusing on her ambition to progress with Adam R2 on the asphalt, accumulating kms, but also enjoying a rally that is to her liking!

The race took off on Friday night, with a surprisingly good pace by the driver in the super special mounted in the center of the city, which - as has been a 'tradition' of previous editions - had a great human frame that bestowed a fantastic mood to the nightly special!

On Saturday, the driver - navigated by Jorge Carvalho - saw her trial become conditioned in the second passage through S. Salvador da Terra / Amonde, since a bump with a front wheel in cutting a corner caused a rupture, leaving the R2 misaligned and subject to penalization, which led the driver and her copilot to lower positions.

Although her technical team managed to minimize the problems during support attendance, the bump also affected the electrical installation, causing Adam to turn off several times during the last rally specials! Despite everything, the pair never lowered their arms and overcame this challenge, rising to the final podium after 11 special qualifying events!

As the pilot supported by Motul, Bompiso, Motorbus, Ofiturbo and Glassdrive said, "we signed up for Viana do Castelo because it is a Rally and city that I like a lot and in this way we took advantage of the participation to run a few more kilometers with the Adam R2. Our test was marked by a bump with a wheel that left the car somewhat conditioned and the possibility of getting a nice result, but without any pressure on the results, and despite the time lost, we focused on finishing the rally, ending our participation with a positive outcome, especially because the rally once again had a fantastic atmosphere thanks to the public that accompanied the race.
